I am a fellow Marin dweller and was looking to stay nearby for work but get away to the quite to relax. This was perfect. I was able to 'nest'le in for the night with a good book in front of the fire in an unbelievably charming studio. With a kitchen, HUGE shower and very comfy bed I was in 'staycation' bliss. This was my virgin airnb experience and not only will I visit Marica and stay at the eco nest again, but it has given me full confidence in the quality of homes they allow on their site. If any other place I stay at has hosts half as wonderful and homes/rooms anywhere near this quality I'm never staying in a hotel again!! Thank you Marcia for a wonderful stay (O:

We had a great time staying in the Nest! It was very comfortable and relaxing. Marcia and Andy are very hospitable. They provided delicious breakfast foods and let us know about cute places in the area to check out. There are great hikes, nice shops, and delicious food in multiple directions. We found plenty of things to enjoy in the area. It was also nice to stay in a place furnished with organic and natural items. We would definitely recommend these cozy accommodations!

Fabulous place to stay! Marcia is the perfect host: extremely helpful with any and all needs while still giving you the privacy needed to enjoy the space. Loved the fireplace and the organic breakfast. Great location in Marin-- checking out the nearby town of Fairfax is highly recommended! Overall, a great experience.

Fabulous Find! My husband (who originally booked a few nights and then booked a few more because we loved it so much) and I stayed at the eco lodge nest for almost 2 weeks while we were searching for a place to live. We both have multiple chemical sensitivities and environmental illness (MCS & EI) and need a place that caters to our specific needs - organic products, no carpet, free from mold, clean air and/or air filter. What we found was even more! We found beauty, artwork, dedication towards sustainability and good health. I highly recommend the buurds nest. It was quiet, private, relaxing, comfortable, rejuvenating. Thank you Andy and Marcia for creating this clean and special space for those of us who require safe and green travel.

I had a great experience at the eco-dweller's buurds nest. First of all want to thank Marcia, the host, because I am a student doing research and volunteering at a local environmental project in her area, and because she is a member of that project and supports the environment, and students working for non-profits, she extended a killer last minute arrangement for me to be able to come and stay. It was such a trip because the project is actually in the same little hamlet in the forest as the buurds nest.

I was so impressed with the nests commitment to sustainability ,organic mattress is so comfy, the place is beautiful. i have some issues to chemicals and really need a space without plastic stuff - and found that the nest met those requirements for healthy environment inside and out. It's such a beautiful spot, and in addition to seeing all the beautiful redwood trees, a lot of the deciduous trees were turning reds and golds so it was particularly beautiful from all the glass doors and windows inside the nest.

I was able to get my research and do my interviews and then come and use the internet to work on my project while sitting by the fire which is not wood burning, which is good. i felt cozy and secure. The place inside is decorated with original art, and plants, and there are very cool pottery plates handmade by local artist, and i managed to get in some hikes right out the door into the forest. I'll be back. Thanks, Emily

Highly recommended! Marcia is an outstanding host. The nest was comfortable, clean and definitely eco-friendly. There's even a nice local restaurant that delivers and gives a discount for people staying at the nest :-)

Magical, marvelous, cozy, and crisp! Tucked up in a tree-filled valley, the Buurd Nest is a fairy delightful dwelling. Marcia is a loving, conscious, considerate, and all-around amazing hostess. She went out of her way to provide my favorite treats, directions here and there, info about local activities/places/events, and even an in-house energy/bodywork session by an incredible local healer. You can see a million stars at night, fill your lungs with refreshingly clean air, and walk along quiet trails lined with beautiful redwoods right from the nest.

Thank you Marcia for helping me celebrate a beautiful Samhain + birthday. It was so special, and I will cherish my memories of the lovely weekend escape. Yay for big trees and magical forest adventures. Gratitude for you and your sweet space.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Nest for an anniversary getaway! The drive to Lagunitas-Forest Knolls from San Francisco was gorgeous and we had no trouble finding the Nest thanks to Marcia's detailed directions! In fact, one of the best parts of our whole trip was the fantastic guide Marcia had put together! She included restaurants, shops, spas/bodywork, destinations, hikes and more! This was really helpful! Marcia and her husband were very friendly and kind, they put a lot of effort into making sure we enjoyed ourselves!

Our favorite part about the Nest itself was the mini propane fireplace! We were so cozy! Also a fun romantic element that we don't have in our city apartment! I loved the multicultural decorations in the Nest, definitely some things I would have picked out myself :) Also, as some one with crazy allergies and respiratory issues, I really appreciated Marcia's commitment to maintaining the Nest as a sanctuary away from chemicals, fragrances, and other non-natural things!

The bed was also really comfortable and cozy, we were out! Marcia also provided us with directions for a hike to a secret stone spiral on top on the mountain behind the Nest! This was a really fun adventure/treasure hunt that made our trip very special and memorable! Again, Marcia made sure we were having fun! After our hike we went to Cafe Arti for dinner, as recommended by Marcia, it was delicious!! yum yum yummmm AND we even got a discount for being guests of the Nest! Unfortunately we only stayed one night at the Nest, but before we left we were treated to a delicious organic breakfast! Marcia left us some fantastic local yogurts, berries, granola, coffee etc. Yum again! On our way out Marcia gave us some good pointers and recommendations for our beach trip to nearby Point Reyes. All in all we were very satisfied with our cozy getaway to the Nest!

Marcia and Andy were so helpful and kind, but still respected our privacy. We would love to return to the Nest, and would highly recommend it to anyone!

My wife and I decided to explore the area for our first anniversary and chose the nest. Marcia was very responsive and attentive prior to our stay by e-mail, and was genuinely interested in learning about us. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised that Marcia had included a lot of personal touches based on our conversations, such as a small bottle of champagne (it was our first anniversary) and a stuffed animal (our Facebook profile picture had one in it).

The place itself was immaculate. It seems very recently constructed or finished and is beautifully furnished. It was also wholesome since there is a strong focus on sustainability, including environmentally friendly products, food composting and water saving measures. The location is amazing, and you really feel like you're in a nest when you sit outside. It's a great place to go stargazing as well. We stayed on a weekend, so there were cold breakfasts for us which included eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit and pastries. Marcia took care to probe beforehand about what kinds of foods we would like and tailored them to us. Overall, we loved our stay. Marcia and Andy were terrific hosts who really care about their guests. I would highly recommend the nest.

Last week my wife Corina and I spent two very nice days and nights at the Eco-Nest in Forest Knolls in Marin County near San Francisco. My wife has Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and so it is nearly impossible to find a place to spend a couple of days where she can be comfortable and free of products containing petrochemical VOCs. As the owner Marcia K also has MCS she has kept the room free of these problem chemicals.

The combination of being able to really enjoy our stay and have an opportunity to explore the Point Reyes National Seashore and the village of Inverness nearby, made it a truly great experience. Marcia and her husband Andy were helpful in every way as well as very friendly and entertaining. We will definitely go back. Bill & Corina, Auburn, CA

The Burrd Nest is so peaceful and the bed is comfy and cozy - we haven't slept so well in months! We also very much enjoyed meeting Marcia and Andy, our hosts. We woke up to a delicious breakfast of fresh organic berries, hard boiled eggs, coffee and incredible scones. Marcia has all sorts of /books for restaurants, hikes and excursions. This is a great spot for all that West Marin has to offer. Thanks, Marcia and Andy, for a wonderful stay!

The Nest has been a real highlight on my cross North America trip. My stay was extended because I couldn't leave! It is so full of love, warmth and your hosts are true gems. They've created such a beautiful space. It has been a home away from home in every sense. There is so much to do in this area, it's nestled in a fantastic community with beautiful nature and great people. You can't ask for more.

One of the most magical, enchanting, eco-friendly honeymoon spots we've visited in Northern California! If you're interested in a truly romantic get away that's still connected and takes the environment into account (without sacrificing comfort & elegance) this is the spot. Surrounded by beautiful trees, nature sounds, and tucked beneath a starry sky, this Love Nest will make your weekend stay forever in your memory.

If this was not enough, the extremely personable Marcia Kislik provided suggestions for exploring the quaint towns surrounding the Nest, and brought us delicious scones that were accompanied by fruit, coffee, and almond milk in the morning. Quite the feeling of living in a wholesome, caring world. And of course the fabulous Arti Indian Cafe is down the road.

It was a pleasure staying at the nest! Marcia was very accommodating as I has a last-minute reservation request. She greeted me when I arrived, offered me a tour or her lovely home, and made me feel welcome. In addition to the comfortable, quiet room, I was provided snacks and breakfast. The area is beautiful and I will be back when I have more time to enjoy it. Very highly recommended.

Marcia and Andy are the friendliest host ever! They went out of their way to take us to a hiking trail, I'm pretty sure we would have gotten lost if they didn't lead the way. The Nest was very airy, comfortable and cute in design. Lots of warm light through the big balcony windows. We loved the little details that they put into designing the space with a little potbelly stove, kitchen, bathroom, balcony, and basically using all organic materials.

The breakfast was also delicious as Marcia accomodated our requests without hesitation. :) Her guidebook was very helpful as we were not from the area. All her recommendations for things to do and things to eat were right on spot and are places we would want to visit again. :) I can only hope to be able to stay there again soon. If not, at least we have made some good friends. :)

The surprise delights were cool. Personal welcome note, delicious organic muffins, a guided hike the day I left up a pretty steep climb that I could never have found myself. Overall, a very enjoyable experience in a beautiful space. The place is impeccably organic. There's even a library of books on sustainable living, which, quite frankly, gave me a bit of an education.

My first airbnb experience and I'll be back. This is a treasure in the forest.

Marcia and the "eco-buurd nest" embody the perfect air b n b experience. Marcia was gracious, accommodating, and made you feel right at home. She opened both her home and heart during my stay. The room itself is spacious, with a kitchen and beautiful bathroom. The bedroom is draped with luxurious silk and splashes of art work make it a unique space.

Tucked away in the mountains, I felt as if I was living in a 5-star tree house. Waking up to the smell of fresh country air and a delicious breakfast was more than expected. Marcia went the extra mile by providing us with information on local activities and taking my boyfriend and I on a hike to a beautiful stone circle. If you're looking for a great get-away, this is the perfect place with the perfect hosts.

Marcia and her husband were wonderful in every way, very welcoming, very informative about the area, the place was really attractive and they really do pay attention to the "all-organic" touch. We had a wonderful time at Point Reyes and their hospitality was definitely part of the joy. Thank you, Angela I.

Wow, what a find. We had a great time at the Eco-Nest. Thank you Marcia & Co. The place is a rare find. We enjoyed being so close to nature yet so close to the city. My wife loves shopping, in addition to hiking and biking. We had the best of all worlds. Great shops in Pt. Reyes and Fairfax, nature trails right out the door, and we got to China Town on our way out of town.

What we like best about the nest is that is just simply spacious and naturally beautiful. The private decks and abundant windows enabled us to experience nature from outside and inside. The place is very comfortable and private -- spacious yet cozy. I highly recommend the findhorn nest. Thank you to our hosts, Marcia and Andrew for providing a clean and beautiful space for us. We will return, assuming it's not all booked up by then.

The Findhorn Buurd's Nest was much greater than Marcia described. How can I articulate the expansiveness and beauty of this amazing place? I felt like I was living in a tree house, with my private balcony and big deck. I was lucky to be there the night of the full moon - in a forest hamlet, without street lights and with most neighboring homes far enough away that their light didn't obscure the starts and moonlight of the evening sky. I had a great view in all directions - day and night. The nest was spotless and comfortable.

The location was perfect for me to get to the beach, take in 3 wonderful organic restaurants including The Hummingbird Cafe Organic breakfast in Fairfax, and Cafe Arti Organic Indian Cafe in Lagunitas which is the best Indian food I've tasted in the world. Marcia is a gracious host, and although they say they intend to make some cosmetic changes to the nest, I found it charming, relaxing, and quite frankly, I felt like a princess just the way it is. Marcia, however, is an artist, who intends to add more color to the nest, as well as hang some artwork, which, if it's anything like her home, will turn the nest into a museum.

The organic mattress, while firm, is very comfortable. There are enough comforters and duvets that I stayed warm all night. And although the propane fireplace was there for heat, I didn't need to use it - which enabled us all to lower our carbon footprint. I will return to the nest with my husband soon, and have already plans to gift a stay to my son and daughter-in-law. The Findhorn's Buurd Nest was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had - a quiet home away from home. Very relaxing. 5-stars for this amazing forest eco-dwelling. I will be back again to experience the magic!
Namaste, In Good Health xo, Marcia & Andy
